MSc Zoology – USTM
The M.Sc. Zoology program provides students with a deep understanding of animal science and the complex interactions among different organisms. It focuses on analyzing these interactions, understanding animal phyla, their distribution, and their relationship with the environment. The program also covers the internal structure of cells and their role in metabolic functions.
Students learn to correlate physiological processes in animals and understand various organ systems. The program enriches their understanding of evolutionary processes, animal behavior, environmental conservation, pollution control, biodiversity, and the protection of endangered species.
M.Sc. Zoology also covers concepts in genetics and molecular biology, which are essential for quantifying biological events and understanding their importance in human health. Additionally, the program helps develop entrepreneurial skills for agro-based small-scale industries such as sericulture, lac culture, fish culture, and pearl culture.
The practical application of zoological knowledge helps students in their personal and professional lives, fostering empathy and a commitment to professional ethics. It also raises awareness about animal cruelty and the importance of conserving animals and their habitats.
