Established in 1994, the Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati (IIT Guwahati) stands as the sixth member of the prestigious IIT fraternity. Acknowledging its commitment to cleanliness, the institute secured the 2nd position in the 'Swachhata Ranking' conducted by the Government of India. Additionally, IIT Guwahati earned recognition as the top-ranked university for IT developers in the Asia-Pacific region in 2019, according to HackerRank. The institute's global influence extends to sustainability, where it ranks 6th globally in Sustainable Development Goal 7 (Affordable and clean energy) in the Times Higher Education Impact Rankings 2023.
