MSc in Mathematics – SMIT
The Department of Mathematics at our university has been an integral part of the academic landscape since the institution's inception in 1997, with initial approval from the University Grants Commission (UGC) and a modest faculty consisting of two members. Originally established to support the needs of various engineering departments, the department has since evolved into a dynamic basic science department with a focus on higher mathematics.
Our faculty members, with their distinguished educational backgrounds from leading Indian institutes and universities, have been instrumental in establishing a strong foundation in various areas of higher mathematics. In 2003, we initiated the MSc program in Mathematics with an initial intake of 20 students. Due to the growing demand for mathematics, we have increased the intake to 40 students starting from the academic year 2021-2022.
