M.Tech in Structural Engineering – SMIT
The M.Tech program in Structural Engineering at The Sikkim Manipal Institute of Technology provides a comprehensive study of various structures, including architectural structures like buildings, houses, and factories; civil infrastructures such as dams, bridges, and pipelines; and aerospace, mechanical, and naval structures like cars, ships, and aeroplanes, all under various environmental constraints.
Program Educational Objectives:
- Provide quality education in Structural Engineering to empower students to meet technological needs and socio-economic challenges.
- Promote quality research on experimental/analytical investigation to solve real-life problems.
- Impart expertise in students to meet professional engineering solutions in societal and environmental contexts, ensuring sustainable development.
Program Outcomes (PO):
- Engineering Knowledge: Apply mathematics, science, engineering fundamentals, and specialization to solve complex engineering problems.
- Problem Analysis: Identify, formulate, review research literature, and analyze complex engineering problems, reaching substantiated conclusions using first principles.
- Design/Development of Solutions: Design solutions for complex engineering problems and design system components or processes meeting specified needs.
- Conduct Investigations of Complex Problems: Use research-based knowledge and research methods to provide valid conclusions.
- Modern Tool Usage: Create, select, and apply appropriate techniques, resources, and modern engineering and IT tools.

Passed BE/B Tech in related branches of with 50% marks (45% for Reserved Category).
