The Department of Chemistry at USTM offers a BSc program in Chemistry following UGC guidelines. The curriculum focuses on theoretical knowledge and hands-on laboratory experiments. It is divided into three stages: introductory chemistry, foundation courses covering sub-disciplines, and in-depth courses that enhance critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

The laboratory component of the program includes measuring chemical properties, understanding structures, synthesizing and characterizing molecules, and using modern analytical instrumentation.

One unique aspect of the program is its integration of research activities into the undergraduate curriculum. In the 6th semester, students take a course on research methodologies and complete a project dissertation, giving them a taste of active research fields.
