B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering – SMIT
The Department of Mechanical Engineering offers a dynamic Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) program with a strong focus on practical learning and industry-relevant skills. Our state-of-the-art laboratories and workshops are equipped with the latest machinery and software, including Pro-E, ANSYS, CNC Lathe, Cut Viewer, and Computer-Aided Design and Manufacturing Lab, providing students with hands-on experience in modern industry practices.
Our curriculum covers a wide range of subjects, including Fluid Mechanics, Thermal Engineering, Dynamics, and Strength of Materials, supported by well-designed labs that enhance understanding and application in these fields. Our faculty members, who are experts in their respective areas, actively engage in research in Micro and Nano-Machining, Energy Management, Metal Cutting, Optimization, Production Management, Operation Research, and Quality Management.

- Work in power plants and manufacturing industries in the sphere of operation and maintenance. Also, function in the software industry in the areas of design and development of software tools such as AUTO CAD, SolidWorks, and CATIA.

- B.Tech. - Passed 10+2/equivalent with 45% marks (40% in Reserved Category) in Physics/ Chemistry/ Mathematics.
- B.Tech. [L.E.] - Passed Diploma in any branch in Engineering and Technology with at least 45% marks (40% in Reserved Category) OR BSc with at least 45% marks (40% in Reserved Category) and passed 10+2 exam with Mathematics as a subject OR passed D.Voc stream in the same or allied sector.
