Established in 2002, the Department of Biosciences and Bioengineering at IIT Guwahati introduced a pioneering four-year B.Tech. Biosciences and Bioengineering Program. The primary aim is to cultivate the skills of bright students, imparting engineering expertise alongside essential knowledge in the field of Biosciences and Bioengineering.

The program features systematically designed courses that provide a comprehensive understanding of physics, incorporating hands-on experience with modern experimental techniques and equipment. Remarkably, the inaugural batch of B.Tech. Biosciences and Bioengineering graduates has achieved significant success, securing industrial placements or gaining admission to prestigious universities in the United States and Europe for advanced studies.
