B. Sc. (Hons) in Horticulture – Daffodil College of Horticulture
B. Sc. (Hons) in Horticulture is an extensive program focusing on various aspects of horticulture, including plant propagation, nursery management, fruit crops (tropical, sub-tropical, and temperate), plantation crops, vegetable crops (tropical, sub-tropical, and temperate), spices, condiments, ornamental plants, medicinal and aromatic crops, and plant pathology.
Students will also study topics like plant breeding, genetics, cytogenetics, weed management, precision farming, protected cultivation, postharvest management, food technology, soil science, agro-meteorology, agro-forestry, and environmental studies.
The program emphasizes practical learning through rural horticultural work experience and experiential learning modules such as commercial horticulture, processing of fruits and vegetables, floriculture, landscape architecture, and bio-inputs.
Students will also participate in placement programs in industries and villages, enhancing their skills in entrepreneurship, communication, and business management.
