MBA (Full Time)
The two-year full-time Master of Business Administration is the Flagship Programme of NERIM Group of Institutions. Since its inception in 1999, NERIM has the distinction of producing its seventeenth batch of future managers with uninterrupted approval from AICTE, and providing them with excellent placements in National and International Organizations of repute . The Master of Business Administration (MBA) [2 year full time and 3 year part time] courses have been designed to meet the present and future needs for professional managers. The goal of the courses is to create a team of competent managers and entrepreneurs to take care of the expanding business and industrial activities in the competitive environment.
Objectives of course
The Master programme in Business Administration (MBA) aims at imparting professional education and training in modern management techniques for handling business operations in a highly dynamic and competitive environment. The programme is intended to have the following objectives :
- Developing the ability to recognize and analyse problems.
- Developing analytical, decision making and problem solving skills.
- Provide insight into the fundamental nature and process of management and human behaviour with the organization.
- Developing the ability to formulate goals and to create commitment to these goals in a given organization.
- Developing an insight into the various organizational problems in the context of changing Technological, Economic, Social and Political Scenario.
As per the approved regulation of Dibrugarh University, a candidate who possesses any Bachelor degree of Dibrugarh University in 10+2+3 pattern, or from any other recognized university with at least 50% marks (45% for SC/ST) in aggregate in either pass or major subjects, is eligible to apply for admission into the MBA 2 year full time programme.
Selection procedure
Selection of candidates shall be made as per prescribed rules of Dibrugarh University. There shall be NERIM Entrance Test (NET) of 200 marks on General Awareness, Reasoning, Numerical Ability and English Language. Apart from the Written Test, there shall be Group Discussion (GD) for 50 marks & Personal Interview (PI) for 50 marks. Candidates having valid MAT score of minimum 500, or minimum 50 percentile in CAT are exempted from the NERIM Entrance Test (NET). However, such candidates shall require to appear for Group Discussion (GD) and Personal Interview (PI) for final selection.
Class room attendance
A student of MBA Full Time programme shall have to attend minimum 80 % of total classes in each paper to be eligible to appear in End semester examinations.
Examination as per Dibrugarh University
The examination comprises of three components- continuous evaluation, internal assessment and end semester examination. The pattern of the examination is as follows:-
- Examination of each paper will carry a total 100 marks, out of which 40 marks will be awarded in internal assessment.
- The semester end written examination of 3 hours duration will carry 60 marks in each paper.
- The project work in the final semester will carry 100 marks in total out of which 40 marks shall be allocated for Viva-voce Examination which will be conducted by faculty members in the presence of external examiner. The remaining 60 marks will be awarded on the basis of the evaluation of the project report.
- The minimum marks for passing each paper of the Semester Examination is: 40. The aggregate percentage for passing each Semester Examination is 50%.
Promotion to next year class
As per regulations of the Dibrugarh University, promotion to Second Year of MBA programme shall be open to those who have successfully cleared at least 10 papers offered for the First Year comprising semester- I and semester- II . However, such student will have to clear the remaining papers of the first year along with the second year examination.
Award of degree
Successful candidates shall be awarded the Degree of Master of Business Administration (MBA) by Dibrugarh University, Candidates securing 60% and above will be awarded First class and those securing 50% or more but less than 60% will be awarded Second class.
