Masters of Political Science – USTM
The Master of Political Science (MAP) program offers a comprehensive curriculum designed to provide students with a deep understanding of both the macro-level dynamics of nations and the micro-level complexities of societies. It includes a core set of required courses, supplemented by specialized and elective courses that cater to various academic and career-related interests.
Aims and Objectives of the MA Political Science Curriculum:
The program aims to equip students with practical knowledge of political, social, and environmental issues relevant to society. It also emphasizes human values and social commitment by addressing issues of justice, dignity of life, peace, harmony, liberty, rights, diversity of religion, ethnicity, etc. Students are encouraged to engage in field visits to village areas, different institutions, parliament, secretariat, etc., to gain practical exposure. The curriculum includes courses that cover relevant issues of gender, human values, and more.
Postgraduate Research:
The program offers a range of courses at the master's level focusing on contemporary global issues. To foster research activities, the program includes a 4-credit compulsory course in the 3rd semester dedicated to Research Methodology in social sciences. In the 4th semester, students are required to complete a dissertation on sociopolitical issues of the region. Field visits and institutional visits are organized to help students explore and observe the practical world in a pragmatic manner.
