The Master of Arts in Philosophy program, duly approved by the UGC, is designed to help you achieve your personal and professional goals by providing you with the tools and knowledge needed for success.
The program offers a comprehensive study of Indian philosophical traditions and Western thought, providing students with a deep insight into both. Core units cover Indian Epistemology, Metaphysics, Ethics, Logic, Tantra, Aesthetics, and other related areas. The program also encourages students to gain a working knowledge of Sanskrit to better understand primary sources.
Key Objectives of the Program:
1) Understand foundational ideas of Indian philosophy.
2) Critically engage with Indian philosophical texts.
3) Explore core concepts and theories of contemporary thought in relation to classical Indian philosophy.
4) Develop the ability to use philosophical approaches to address contemporary issues and integrate them into practical life.
