BBA in Tourism and Travel (Hons. With Research) – Galgotias University
The BBA in Tourism and Travel program offers students comprehensive knowledge, competence, and skills in the professional field of tourism at the Bachelor’s Degree level. With a focus on practical application, this course aims to provide students with fundamental and hands-on understanding of tour operations and other related services within the tourism industry.
Emphasizing research-based learning, the program equips students with the tools and methodologies necessary to explore and analyze various aspects of the tourism sector. Through a blend of theoretical insights and practical experiences, students develop a deep understanding of the industry, preparing them for diverse roles and opportunities in the field of tourism and travel.
Starting from the academic year 2022-23, the University has introduced a 4-year Undergraduate (UG) Degree program titled "Honours with Research" in accordance with the National Education Policy 2020.
Students who achieve a minimum of 75% marks or a 7.5 CGPA in the first six semesters have the option to pursue a research stream in the fourth year of their undergraduate studies. Those opting for this stream will undertake a research project or dissertation under the guidance of a faculty member, focusing on their major discipline.
Upon successful completion of 160 credits, including 12 credits from the research project/dissertation, students will be awarded a 4-year UG Degree (Honours with Research). This initiative aims to promote research engagement at the undergraduate level, fostering a culture of academic inquiry and excellence among students.
#In the event, students fail to secure 75% marks or a 7.5 CGPA in the first six semesters, they will be awarded a 4-year UG Degree with Honours only. In addition, students not undertaking research will do 3 courses for 12 credits in lieu of a research project / Dissertation.
