Contributing significantly to the nation's growth, agriculture employs about 70% of our population and accounts for 8.56% of India's exports. Approximately 43% of India's geographical area is dedicated to agricultural activity.
The Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Agriculture is a 4-year program that focuses on agricultural sciences, modern scientific equipment and techniques, land surveying, soil science, water resource management, animal and poultry management, and basics of biotechnology. The course aims to enhance agricultural productivity and is recognized by the University Grants Commission under the UGC Act, 1956.
Agricultural science degree programs provide students with a comprehensive understanding of agriculture, including agricultural technology, management principles, research methods, and ecosystem protection. Business-related topics such as agribusiness management and marketing may also be covered.
The Bachelor of Science (Agriculture) program is approved under the Arunachal University of Studies Act 2012 (No. 9 of 2012).
Agricultural Sciences are crucial for farmer growth, food security, livelihood, and the economy. This bachelor's degree program serves as a foundational step for prospective Agricultural Scientists. It covers technologies of soil cultivation, harvesting, animal production, and processing of plant and animal products for human consumption. Practical training programs and hands-on experience, including Rural Agriculture and Work Experience (RAWE), are integral parts of the program at Arunachal University of Studies.
