Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) – Arunachal University

Teaching is a multifaceted concept that begins at home and extends to educational institutions. Various perspectives exist regarding its methodology, with debates on whether it should adhere to specific standards or adapt to societal norms. Extensive research suggests that teaching should follow established methods and techniques, often reflected in bachelor's degrees such as B.Ed. This professional degree, pursued after graduation, prepares students for roles as teachers in schools.

Surveys, such as one conducted by NCERT, have highlighted the significance of education degrees in teacher training. Trained teachers, especially those with a Bachelor of Education degree, tend to perform better than their untrained counterparts. The teachers' training department offers a year-long program post-graduation to prepare candidates for teaching at the secondary school level. Known as Bachelor of Education, this program emphasizes teaching methodologies and includes theoretical and practical components.

Subjects covered in the program include Educational Psychology, Educational Philosophy, Guidance and Counselling, Education Culture and Human Values, and two teaching subjects. The program comprises 10 months of theory classes (micro teachings) followed by practical teaching in schools (public and private), ensuring that future teachers are equipped to handle the practical aspects of teaching.
