The Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree program aims to provide students with a comprehensive interdisciplinary academic foundation in the humanities and social sciences. This program offers a broad range of knowledge to expose students to various employment opportunities, emphasizing social analytical skills to engage in community and societal development. Graduates are equipped to teach, conduct research, and fulfill social responsibilities in both public and private sectors.

The BA program at the Centre for Buddhist Studies offers a unique four-year curriculum in Buddhist Studies with Himalayan Language, leading to a BA degree. The courses cover Buddhist philosophy, history, culture, and Himalayan languages such as Tibetan, Sanskrit, and Nepali. Approximately two-thirds of the curriculum focuses on Buddhist philosophy, with the remaining third dedicated to Himalayan languages. Students can choose to emphasize either philosophy or language.

The program is designed for students interested in pursuing studies in humanities and social sciences, providing them with diverse job opportunities locally and internationally. By the end of the program, successful students will have gained extensive knowledge of the Indo-Tibetan Buddhist tradition, including its historical and philosophical aspects, as well as proficiency in Tibetan and Nepali languages. The Centre for Buddhist Studies also offers support for students who may need additional English language proficiency before fully engaging in the BA program, allowing them to progress to the second year upon meeting the required standards.
