BA Psychology – USTM
The BA Psychology program at USTM aims to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the human mind and behavior. The program is designed to be interdisciplinary, covering biological, cognitive, and behavioral aspects of psychology.
The objectives of the BA Psychology curriculum include:
1. Providing students with a foundational knowledge of psychology, with an emphasis on its practical applications in daily life.
2. Fostering an understanding of individual differences, self-awareness, and interpersonal relationships, including topics such as intelligence and personality.
3. Exploring the influence of behavior, environment, and cognition on the body's systems, including topics like the function of the brain, biopsychology, and the endocrine system.
4. Introducing students to the development of psychological theories from both Indian and Western perspectives.
5. Familiarizing students with the history of different schools of thought within psychology.
The program also includes opportunities for undergraduate research, where students can engage in field visits and internships in clinical, counseling, and organizational behavior settings.
