BA (General) – Holy Cross College
The B.A. General program at HCC is a comprehensive three-year, full-time course structured into six semesters. Students have the flexibility to major in English, Political Science, Sociology, and foundational subjects such as English, Indian Heritage and Culture, Alternative English, Environmental Studies, Computer Applications, and Public Administration.
Throughout the program, students will study a total of four papers each semester. They are required to select three Discipline papers (English, Political Science, and Sociology) and one foundation paper from the 1st to the 5th semester. In the 6th semester, students will focus on soft skills, including Indian Constitution and Planning, Introduction to Journalism, and Human Rights and Gender Studies.
HCC also offers History as a General Subject, in collaboration with Tripura University, starting from the 2022 academic session. Students have the option to choose History or English as their main elective core. The program has an intake capacity of 50 seats, with 40 seats allocated for English and 10 for History.
The primary goal of our program is to nurture students with a curious and enthusiastic mindset, encouraging them to become better individuals with a positive attitude towards society.
