MSc in Nutrition and Dietetics (Foods and Nutrition) – MLCU
The MSc in Nutrition and Dietetics (Foods and Nutrition) is a specialized two-year program encompassing four semesters, including coursework and an internship. Post-coursework, students are encouraged to undergo the Registered Dietitian (RD) Internship for hands-on experience. Eligibility requires a bachelor's degree in fields like Food Nutrition and Dietetics, Home Science with a specialization in Food and Nutrition, or any undergraduate degree with at least four nutrition-related subjects.
Duration: 2 years (4 semesters coursework and internship). Post coursework students are encouraged to attend Registered Dietetian (RD) Internship.
Eligibility Criteria
Any bachelor degree in one of the following:
- 1.Food Nutrition and Dietetics
- 2.Home Science with Food and Nutrition as a specialisation. The student should have covered a minimum of four courses out of the following: Nutritional Biochemistry, Food Microbiology, Basic Nutrition, Clinical Nutrition and Therapeutic Nutrition.
- 3.Any undergraduate degree with a minimum of 4 nutrition-related subjects like (i) Basic Nutrition (ii) Biochemistry (iii) Human Physiology (iv) Diet Therapy (v) Clinical Nutrition (vi) Diet in Diseases.
- 4.PG Diploma in Nutrition and Dietetics are eligible for lateral entry to the 3rd semester.
Lateral entry to the third semester after:
- 1.A postgraduate diploma in Nutrition and Dietetics with an undergraduate degree course in Nutrition, or
- 2.A four-year undergraduate degree with honors in Nutrition and Dietetics.
