Master of Science in Counselling Psychology- MLCU
The Master of Science in Counselling Psychology offers specializations in Marriage and Family Counselling, Educational Counselling, Career Counselling, and Community Mental Health. The program aims to train competent and well-rounded counsellors who can serve as professionals in organizations and government departments. In response to the Allied and Healthcare Act (2021), the department provides two tracks for the MSc. Counseling Psychology program:
Two-year Track:
First Year: Lays the foundation with essential knowledge and skills for prospective counsellors.
Second Year: Allows students to choose a specialization, conduct a research project, and complete their internship in various institutions and organizations.
Graduates are eligible to practice as per current standards in the field.
Three-year Track:
First Two Years: Cover the same courses as the two-year track, aligning with the Allied and Healthcare Act (2021) requirements and standards.
Third Year: Dedicated to an internship, ensuring compliance with the Allied and Healthcare Act.
Both tracks provide a comprehensive education, preparing students to become competent counsellors and mental health professionals. The program's flexibility allows students to choose a path based on their career goals and the evolving regulatory landscape in the field of counselling psychology.
Eligibility Criteria
- Any bachelor degree.
- Bridge course in Introduction to Psychology for students without a BA or BSc in Psychology
