As part of the university's commitment to academic excellence and in alignment with NEP2020, a 4-year Undergraduate (UG) Degree (Honours with Research) has been introduced starting from the academic year 2022-23. This unique program offers students the opportunity to pursue research in their chosen field during their undergraduate studies.

Students who achieve a minimum of 75% marks or a 7.5 CGPA in the first six semesters may opt for the research stream in the fourth year. They will undertake a research project or dissertation under the guidance of a faculty member, with the project focusing on their major discipline. Upon completion of 160 credits, including 12 credits from the research project/dissertation, students are awarded a 4-year UG Degree (Honours with Research).
