*4-year Undergraduate Degree (Honours with Research)

As per the guidelines outlined in the NEP2020, we are pleased to announce the introduction of a 4-year Undergraduate (UG) Degree program titled "Honours with Research," effective from the academic year 2022-23.

Students who achieve a remarkable academic performance, securing 75% marks or a 7.5 CGPA and above, in the first six semesters, will have the opportunity to pursue a specialized research stream in their fourth year at the UG level.

Under this scheme, eligible students will embark on a research project or dissertation within their major discipline, under the mentorship of a faculty member of the University. This intensive research endeavor will contribute 12 credits towards their overall degree requirements. Upon fulfilling the requisite criteria and accumulating 160 credits, including those from the research project, students will be conferred with a prestigious 4-year UG Degree (Honours with Research).

However, in instances where students do not meet the specified academic threshold, failing to secure 75% marks or a 7.5 CGPA in the initial six semesters, they will still be honored with a 4-year UG Degree with Honours. Additionally, for those not pursuing research, an alternative path will involve completing three designated courses, amounting to 12 credits, in lieu of a research project or dissertation.

This flexible framework aims to encourage academic excellence and foster a culture of scholarly inquiry, ensuring that students are equipped with both theoretical knowledge and practical research skills to excel in their chosen fields of study.
