Pachhunga University College (PUC) is a prestigious public institute located in Aizawl, Mizoram, and serves as the only constituent college of Mizoram University, a central university established by an Act of Parliament of India. Established in 1958 as Aijal College, it holds the distinction of being the oldest and largest college in Mizoram, both in terms of enrollment and campus size. Initially offering intermediate of arts courses, it later expanded to include bachelor degrees in arts, commerce, and science. PUC further solidified its reputation by introducing master's degree courses in Mizo, philosophy, and life sciences, thereby becoming the first postgraduate college in Mizoram.

Named in honor of Pachhunga, a prominent businessman and politician who initially funded its management in 1962, the college transitioned into a university college under the North Eastern Hill University in 1979. The sprawling 138-acre campus, located in College Veng, is not only the largest in the state but also serves as a vital green lung for Aizawl. Recognized for its conservation efforts, PUC has received several awards, including the Indira Priyadarshini Vrikshamitra Awards for its pioneering work in afforestation and wasteland management.

PUC has garnered numerous accolades for its academic excellence and infrastructure development. The college received the Best College award from the Zoram Research Foundation and was awarded the prestigious Fund for Improvement of Science and Technology Infrastructure (FIST) by the Department of Science and Technology of India. Additionally, the college has been recognized by the Department of Biotechnology of India and the National Assessment and Accreditation Council, achieving high grades and rankings.
